Journeyman Plumbing License (Master License is preferred) and documented management training as well as prior experience of service department management, working knowledge of commercial plumbing and HVAC systems, working knowledge of Backflow Testing requirements, working knowledge of excavation operations and OSHA requirements.
Duties:
1. The primary goal is to assure customer satisfaction and profitability of the service department
2. Manage, oversee, direct and assist members of the Commercial Customer Service team
3. Manage, oversee, direct and assist members of the Commercial field service group
4. Assist Project Managers with scheduling and coordination of ongoing work
5. Oversee, direct and assist the Customer Service team and Field Technician utilization and efficiency ensuring appropriate tasks are assigned
6. Communicate with customers, Service Dispatchers, Field Technicians, Project Managers and suppliers as applicable.
7. Provide support to Service Dispatch and CSR as needed ensuring customers receive the highest level of service.
8. Assist Service Technicians by phone and in the field when appropriate
9. Assist the Fleet manager with spot checking of all service vehicles ensuring all are clean, stocked, and maintained properly etc.
10. Refer any requests for quotes on major projects to the Owners or Project Managers as directed
11. Report any matters of unresolved dispatch personnel or field employee deficiencies to management
12. Assist management with reviews and evaluations of service department personnel including recommendations for employee training
13. Assist in development, review and reporting service department business performance indicators
14. Assist management in determining requirements of staffing levels for Service Department
15. Develop daily and weekly tasks to be assigned to Customer Service personnel ensuring divisions operational requirements are being met
16. Additional duties as assigned
Tasks:
1. Review daily service tickets ensuring processing procedures are completed including required site information and details are entered, ensuring follow up work is scheduled and parts orders are placed
2. Review service work orders for any apparent deficiencies in training or skills in service techs and schedule training as deemed necessary, notify Service Dispatch and HR of training schedule
3. Review all warranty invoices, ensuring that all valid warranty issues are being addressed to the vendor, parts, misc. field materials and labor.
4. Provide customer quotes for minor repairs and replacements
5. Review service invoices for accuracy following processing by AR staff
6. Perform daily review of dispatch board ensuring customers and managers have been apprised of upcoming work
7. Ensure customers receive prior notification of technician arrival
8. Additional tasks as assigned
