YHB Hospitality - The Pickwick Hotel - San Francisco CA has an excellent opportunity for a talented Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team. The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for overall maintenance and repairs of hotel guest rooms, gym, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, life safety, carpentry, painting and equipment of the properties.
Job duties
- Attend to all guest rooms and public area complaints, equipment, and preventative maintenance programs to ensure the reliability, safety and comfort of hotel guests and staff.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs including HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and all other general maintenance duties as assigned.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and circuit issues from distribution boards plumbing supply, drain, sewer and storm drain systems.
- Prioritize work orders through requests and establish hotel area down times to minimize inconveniencing guests.
- Respond to guest room calls as required in close coordination with the front office, housekeeping and other departments of the hotel.
- Adhere to hotel safety standards and service points as required.
- Perform duties as Fire Alarm Response Team.
- Participate in OSHA/Safety programs within the hotel through awareness in everyday job functions and participate in the hotel’s Emergency Evacuation Team.
- Responsible for preventative maintenance program for HVAC, electrical, mechanical, laundry, kitchen, plumbing, carpentry, painting, water filtration systems, hot water boiler and refrigeration.
- Responsible for energy management and conservation on the property.
- Maintain fire, life safety detection/alarm systems of the hotel and participate in full scale fire mock drills.
- Maintain close control and inventory of all supplies and equipment.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Highly motivated self-starter.
- Minimum of 2 years building maintenance experience in a similar environment including previous hotel experience and familiarity with hotel operating procedures.
- Technical working knowledge in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, swimming pool operation, gym equipment, carpentry, painting and refrigeration required.
- Working knowledge of elevator operations, maintenance and inspections.
- Knowledge of hotel fire regulations and policies.
- Ability to maintain efficiency and maintain a high standard and quality of service to ensure total satisfaction of hotel guests.
- Ability to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure overall quality and guest satisfaction.
