Description of Job Duties
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for he corrective, preventative and urgent maintenance needs of the property, while maintaining a friendly and guest service-oriented demeanor.
Core Functions
1. Adhere to Oxford Hotels & Resorts, LLC guidelines and core values to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our team members and guests.
2. Basic electrical repairs, change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include: vinyl repair, touch up painting, minor furniture repair, bath caulking, tile repairs, etc.
3. Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC in guestrooms, meeting rooms, and other areas.
4. Basic plumbing repairs, perform plumbing repair on laundry equipment, preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request.
5. Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause - determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings.
6. Changing locks, installing smoke alarms.
7. Carpentry and screening.
8. Interior and exterior painting.
9. Assisting in maintaining service logs and ensuring all systems are regularly scheduled and serviced.
10. Periodically clean gutters, drain water heaters.
11. Maintain shop and tools in clean, orderly and safe condition.
12. Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel and communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
13. Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
14. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· 1-2 years maintenance and/or hotel experience.
· High School diploma or equivalent required.
· Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, screening and locks.
· Licensed in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) preferred.
Mental and Physical Demands
· Frequent: Walking, standing, and moving throughout property. Kneeling, squatting, and bending constantly. Pushing up to 50lbs. Pulling, lifting, carrying, or otherwise moving up to 20lbs. Frequent use of hand, wrist, and other manual dexterity in use throughout shift. Use of power tools, sharp objects (screwdrivers, nails, screws), and some audibly loud noise from use of machinery.
· Occasional: Exposure to paint and chemicals. Some travel/driving required. Interacting with guests (speaking, listening, writing).
